The Bachelor and Three Graces Yosemite National Park. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias takes my imagination to a different time of long, long ago. It is easy to imagine a dinosaur walking through this primeval and ancient forest. My favorite time here is early in the morning when then is quiet but for the songbirds and breeze sighing.

Mariposa Grove is a sequoia grove located near Wawona, California, United States, in the southernmost part of Yosemite National Park.It is the largest grove of giant sequoias in the park, with several hundred mature examples of the tree. Two of its trees are among the 30 largest giant sequoias in the world. The grove closed on July 6, 2015, for a restoration project and reopened on June 15, 2018.

Another must-visit tree is the Bachelor and Three Graces. This beautiful cluster is a very popular spot for photos. However, the most famous tree in the sequoia grove is the Grizzly Giant, one of the largest trees in the Mariposa Grove and, at an estimated age of 2,700 years, one of the oldest living sequoia.

Start along the Mariposa Grove Trail at the Big Trees Loop and hike past notable trees such as the Bachelor and Three Graces, the 3,000-year-old Grizzly Giant, and California Tunnel Tree. The oldest Yosemite giant sequoia may exceed 3,000 years in age!
